Background

Searching for the secrets of past eras and cultures has enticed me into the archives of ancient libraries and museums, deep within the recesses of prehistoric caves, sailing aboard historic tall ships, and joining a team from the Smithsonian Institute on an archeological dig at a 15th century Basque whaling site. Because of these and other endeavors I was called the “female Indiana Jones” in an article by Women’s Adventure Magazine.

For my historic fiction I’ve been honored to receive research grants from the National Endowment of the Arts and the Idaho Commission on the Arts. I have also received the Outstanding Graduate Award from Boise State University, as well as a key to the city of Corpus Cristi, Texas.

As my “Screenplay” page announces, my new script The Far Reach of Yesterday (based on my upcoming novel) has won three prestigious screenwriting competitions, and been recognized by seven more.
